Chapman Farms Celebrates the End of School
Children who live in the community were treated to ice pops and rides on their last day of school.
Residents of Chapman Farms kicked off the start of summer vacation with their annual end-of-school celebration at the community’s park.
“People really like it and it’s always well attended,” said Monica Fish, co-chair of the community’s social committee. “We try to have a variety of activities for the little ones and the older children,” she said.
This year the committee had a rock climbing wall and “the tumbler” – a ride that spins you upside down – for older children. Little ones got to jump in an inflatable bounce house, run through a train shaped inflatable obstacle course, or slide down an inflatable slide.

No one can recall how many years the event has been held. It’s a nice way for people to get out and see each other, Fish said.
The event is an annual ritual for community members. “The kids do their thing and the parents get to chat,” said Linda Sayan.

“Even my 13-year old likes it,” said Josie Emilio.
Emilio said now that her children will be home for vacation, she’s going to “miss my quiet days.”
But the kids can’t wait to begin their vacation.Travel, trips to the beach and sleeping in were all things residents were looking forward to.
“I’m really excited to go to New York,” said Mikayla Borneman. Adria Sayan felt the same way about an upcoming visit to Ocean City.
