Emergency Roadwork on I-895 Slows Traffic
Drivers should take I-695 or I-95 if they plan on passing through the area.

Interstate 895 was crawling Thursday morning for drivers headed south of Baltimore City, according to transportation officials.
Traffic was reduced to one lane on I-895 between Potee Street and Shell Road for emergency repairs, the Maryland Transportation Authority reported.
Heavy backups jammed the road during the morning rush hour, according to the authority, which advised using I-95 or I-695 as alternate routes.

All lanes were expected open by the afternoon/evening, according to the Maryland Transportation Authority.
The north tube of the Harbor Tunnel/I-895 was closed for approximately one hour Tuesday afternoon due to flooding, the Baltimore Business Journal reported.

During the rainstorm, Baltimore City police told ABC 2 News that five people were rescued from vehicles on West Patapsco Avenue at Potee Street, where the road had flooded.
