The slow storm season has been a relief to many, but tropical weather tends to pick up right about…now.

Hurricane season starts June 1, but the peak of the storm season doesn’t arrive until mid-August and lasts until October.

The latest outlook from the National Hurricane Center predicts a below-normal season.

Forecasters are expecting up to 12 named storms with 6 hurricanes and only 2 major hurricanes. So far this year, we’ve had two named storms: Hurricane Arthur and Hurricane Bertha.
