Police Identify Body of Woman Found in Dundalk

Baltimore County police said the body was in poor condition.

A woman’s body found in Dundalk Tuesday night has been identified, the Baltimore County Police Department reported Wednesday afternoon.

At 10:50 p.m. on Tuesday, officials found an unidentified woman deceased on Peninsula Expressway, one mile east of Merritt Boulevard, according to the report.

Although police initially said Identification of the body could take several days due to the “poor condition” in which it was found, authorities said Wednesday afternoon that it was confirmed to be Dorothy Iris Grubb, 60, of the 1700 block of Manor Road, who was reported missing on Saturday.

The body was found along the side of the road, according to Baltimore County Police Department spokeswoman Elise Armacost. She said she could not disclose what led officers there due to the ongoing nature of the investigation.

According to Armacost, the body had decomposed when officials found it, leading police to believe it could take days for identification.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner still has to determine the cause and manner of death, according to officials.

Police have been searching for Grubb since her daughter reported her missing on Saturday.

Grubb’s boyfriend, Clyde Calvin Campbell, 53, was taken into custody on an unrelated weapons charge on Monday on Merritt Boulevard, police said. He lived at the same address as Grubb, and there was a history of domestic violence in their relationship, according to police.

Officers could not find Campbell over the weekend, when Grubb was reported missing, according to police, who said Wednesday he was being held at the Baltimore County Detention Center on $250,000 bail.
