$150K Damage to House in Shady Side Fire

Anne Arundel County Fire officials are investigating what caused a Shady Side fire that heavily damaged a home.

SHADY SIDE, MD — A Shady Side residence sustained an estimated $150,000 damage from a fire Sunday morning, according to the Anne Arundel County Fire Department.

Firefighters responded to the 1500 block of Columbia Cove Court just before 10 a.m., where they found smoke coming from the eaves of a two-story single-family home. Firefighters brought the fire under control in about 30 minutes.

Authorities say the cause of the fire is under investigation by the department's Fire and Explosives Investigation Unit.

No injuries were reported. The owners were not home at the time of the fire.
