UPDATE: Davidsonville House Fire Causes $15K in Damages
Fire officials said no one was injured in the incident.
Anne Arundel County firefighters battled a two-alarm fire at a Davidsonville home Monday afternoon.
Crews responded to a home in the 700 block of Appomattox Road West around 1:58 p.m. Monday to find smoke coming from the back of the house, according to Battalion Chief Steve Thompson.
After crews began attacking the fire in the back of the home, they called for a second alarm, Thompson said. It took 48 firefighters approximately 30 minutes to get the fire under control. There were no injuries in the incident.

An investigation revealed the cause of the fire was unattended cooking, according to a release. The home suffered $15,000 in total damage, and the smoke detectors in the home were found to be inoperable.
One adult man is being assisted by the Red Cross.
