Anne Arundel County Recreation and Parks serves millions of residents and visitors annually through a wide variety of services and programs. Its primary focus is to provide comprehensive recreational programs for residents and safeguard valuable land through the maintenance and management of over 160 parks and natural areas. The department manages specialized recreational facilities, including two swim centers, two golf courses, three ice rinks, a baseball stadium, a softball complex, and programs tailored to diverse needs ranging from school-age childcare to adaptive recreation. It also cares for thousands of acres of land, encompassing community parks, greenways, archaeological sites, environmental and historical preserves, and large regional parks spanning several hundred acres. Its mission is to create opportunities that allow individuals to enjoy life, explore nature, and restore their health and well-being. principal Will Myers finished his 100th marathon in Severna Park last weekend as part of the B&amp;A Trail Marathon.  Myers' friend Marie Friedland said the principal is part of the Annapolis Striders, a running club that promotes physical fitness in the area, and that he's been running for fun for decades. Myers wasn't the only one who ran the race with special significance. Another runner, Ron Bowman, also completed his 100th marathon Sunday in Severna Park, according to Annapolis Striders photographer Jon Valentine. Valentine was kind enough to share photos of Myers' run with Patch and capture the moment when Myers hit the century mark of races as he crossed the finish line last Sunday.
