Anne Arundel County Recreation and Parks serves millions of residents and visitors annually through a wide variety of services and programs. Its primary focus is to provide comprehensive recreational programs for residents and safeguard valuable land through the maintenance and management of over 160 parks and natural areas. The department manages specialized recreational facilities, including two swim centers, two golf courses, three ice rinks, a baseball stadium, a softball complex, and programs tailored to diverse needs ranging from school-age childcare to adaptive recreation. It also cares for thousands of acres of land, encompassing community parks, greenways, archaeological sites, environmental and historical preserves, and large regional parks spanning several hundred acres. Its mission is to create opportunities that allow individuals to enjoy life, explore nature, and restore their health and well-being. UPDATED at 10:10 am Friday EDGEWATER, MD — Anne Arundel County Police say a critically missing Edgewater man has been located and is now safe with his family. Authorities had asked for the public's help as officers looked for the man with slight dementia who was deemed critically missing.Patch's Original Post:  Authorities are searching for Robert Deane Rodgers, 86, who was last seen about 10 a.m. Thursday when he left his Edgewater home to drive to the CVS store.  Rodgers is described as: 5'8, 160 pounds, with thinning gray hair, and wearing silver glasses.
