• 27 Law Enforcement Officers Graduate From University of Maryland's DUI Institute (thebaynet.com) — Fruitland residents can take some comfort knowing their police department was among 17 agencies statewide to complete the University of Maryland’s intensive DUI Institute training. The 40-hour program sharpens officers’ skills in spotting and stopping impaired drivers using the latest evidence-based techniques. State officials say these graduates will play a key role in preventing serious and fatal crashes on Maryland roads. 
• Pickleball gets a new indoor home on the Eastern Shore (wboc.com) — Fruitland residents now have a new indoor pickleball option just up the road in Salisbury, where Dill Dinkers has opened its first Eastern Shore location. Local players, including a Fruitland enthusiast who plays for hours a day, say the weatherproof courts are already building community. The facility plans leagues, school partnerships, and a July 25–26 charity tournament for breast cancer awareness.
