Officials are still unsure if it's the same animal that recently attacked a 10-year-old at the park, but they stress that beaver attacks remain extremely rare, with only a few cases reported in Maryland over the past decade.
• Gaithersburg Man Wins $50,000 (mocoshow.com) — A Gaithersburg auto mechanic turned his last $5 into a $50,000 Maryland Lottery Pick 5 win after buying tickets at Goshen Beer & Wine in nearby Montgomery Village. He plans to use the windfall for property taxes and home remodeling, while the store earns a $500 bonus for selling the lucky ticket.
• 8th Day Spreads Jewish Pride in Coast to Coast Shows (collive.com) — Gaithersburg got a spotlight stop on Jewish rock band 8th Day's recent coast-to-coast tour, where the group helped celebrate 36 years of Chabad of Upper Montgomery County. Their shows, including the Gaithersburg visit, blended upbeat music with messages of Jewish pride, unity, and community connection.
