Armed Robbery Of MoCo McDonald's Linked To Prince George's Men: Police
Montgomery County Police have charged two Prince George's County men with the armed robbery of a McDonald's restaurant.
MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MD — Two men from Prince George's County have been arrested and charged with the armed robbery of a McDonald's restaurant in Montgomery County.
On Aug. 3 shortly after 2 a.m., Montgomery County police responded to a McDonald's located in the 2700 block of University Blvd. West in Kensington. Detectives investigating the case determined that 21-year-old Zachary Kinnell of Upper Marlboro and 20-year-old Brian Elzey also of Upper Marlboro were in a silver Chevrolet Cruz. They entered the drive-thru and ordered food, then one of them left the vehicle, went up to the cashier's window, showed a gun and told the cashier to leave. The cashier took off and the suspect reached through the drive-thru window and removed money from the cash drawer, according to the police department.
Then on Aug. 4 shortly before 1 a.m., Montgomery County police officers spied a Chevy Cruz enter the drive-thru of a McDonald's restaurant located in the 12100 block of Veirs Mill Road. It matched the description of the one used to rob the Kensington location as well as others in the DMV area, the police department disclosed.

The suspects made a purchase and left the parking lot. Officers followed the Chevy Cruz and pulled it over in the area of Veirs Mill Road and Connecticut Avenue. Officers arrested the two occupants, later identified as Kinnell and Elzey.
Detectives believe that there may be additional victims who have not contacted police.
