Composting Workshop @ Seneca Creek State Park

October 15, 2015 at 6:30 pm -- Come to this free workshop and to learn about home composting.

Did you know that you can compost your grass clippings, leaves and other garden trimmings and prunings right in your own backyard? Compost is used as a beneficial soil amendment for your garden, lawn and potting soil to improve plant growth and increase the ability for the soil to absorb moisture. Staff from the Montgomery County, MD Division of Solid Waste Services will hold a composting demonstration workshop and will discuss the types of materials that can be composted in your backyard. Learn about the composting process and what you can do to increase the success of your composting efforts. Participants will be able to take home a compost bin after the workshop to start composting in your backyard.

Workshop will be held at Seneca Creek State Park at the park office on October 15, 2014 at 6:30 pm.
