HomeFree USA, in partnership with the City of Gaithersburg, Montgomery County, and the Maryland Deparment of Housing and Community Development, invites homeowners who may be delinquent on their mortgages due to unemployment, underemployment or loss of income due to medical conditions, to attend a free workshop to learn about Maryland’s Emergency Mortgage Assistance Program.
Two sessions will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2011. The first session runs from Noon to 2 p.m., the second session runs from 2 to 4 p.m. The workshop will be held at 610 East Diamond Avenue in Gaithersburg, Maryland. Counselors are bilingual, offering services in both English and Spanish.

The Emergency Mortgage Assistance Program, which ends in September, assists qualified homeowners who are facing foreclosure due to involuntary unemployment or loss of significant income with zero interest loans. Funds are available through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, Emergency Homeowner Loan Program, administered in Maryland by the Department of Housing and Community Development.
