1. No Charges For MoCo Officers After Fatal Bus Stop Shooting (patch.com) — Gaithersburg readers are learning that six city and county officers involved in the July 21 fatal shooting of an armed man at a Lost Knife Road bus stop will not face criminal charges. Maryland's attorney general said investigators found insufficient evidence of a crime after reviewing the confrontation near Montgomery Village Plaza, where officers say the man pointed a loaded handgun while bystanders were being cleared.

New Weather Station Activated in Laytonsville, Three More Planned Across Montgomery County (mocoshow.com) — Montgomery County is adding a dedicated weather station in Gaithersburg by year's end, giving local emergency officials better, real‑time data for storms, flooding, snow, and heat. Part of the Maryland Mesonet expansion, the new solar‑powered station will track temperature, wind, rainfall, and soil conditions, helping protect residents and businesses and supporting the county's broader climate‑resilience goals.
