String Of Food Robberies Tied To Montgomery Village Man: Police
Police have charged Babucarr Fatty with robbing five food delivery drivers in Gaithersburg and Montgomery Village in the past week.

GAITHERSBURG, MD — Montgomery County Police have charged a man with robbing five drivers as they tried to deliver pizza and Chinese food in Gaithersburg and Montgomery Village in the past week. Babucarr Fatty, 24, of the 20500 block of Strath Haven Drive in Montgomery Village, has been charged with five armed robberies reported in the areas between May 5 and May 9.
Fatty was charged with the following armed robberies and thefts:
- May 5 at 10:48 p.m., Fatty reportedly contacted a Gaithersburg pizza restaurant and ordered food to be delivered to a home in the 9300 block of Chadburn Place in Montgomery Village. When the delivery driver arrived, Fatty stole the food from the driver, police say.
- On May 6 at 10:30 p.m., Fatty ordered food from a Gaithersburg pizza restaurant that was delivered to a home in the 9500 block of Horizon Run Road in Gaithersburg. Once the delivery driver arrived, Fatty stole the food and an undisclosed amount of cash, police say.
- On May 8 at 10:21 p.m., a Gaithersburg Chinese food restaurant received an order to deliver food to a house in the 20600 block of Highland Hall Drive in Montgomery Village. Officers say Fatty tried to rob the delivery driver after he arrived, but he did not obtain any food or cash.
- On May 8 at 10:51 p.m., Fatty allegedly ordered food from a Chinese restaurant in Montgomery Village to be delivered to the 20500 block of Aspenwood Lane there. The delivery driver was robbed of the food and an undisclosed amount of cash after he arrived, police say.
- On May 9 at 11 p.m., Fatty ordered from a Gaithersburg pizza restaurant that sent the delivery to a home in the 20600 block of Highland Hall Drive in Montgomery Village. Food and an undisclosed amount of cash were stolen from the driver by Fatty, officers say.
On May 10, detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Fatty charging with five counts of armed robbery, five counts of first-degree assault, four counts of using a firearm in the commission of a violent crime, and related charges. Police arrested Fatty at his home on a Montgomery County arrest warrant and taken to the Central Processing Unit. He was ordered held without bond.
