Young Brothers In 'Critical Condition' After School Bus Crash: Reports
Our Lady of Good Counsel High School confirmed that a student and his younger brother are hospitalized following a Friday morning crash.
GAITHERSBURG, MD — Two young brothers are hospitalized with life-threatening injuries following a Friday morning school bus collision, according to various reports.
“Earlier this morning, we learned that a member of our senior class and his younger brother were in a serious automobile accident and are in critical condition,” reads an email sent to school parents by Our Lady of Good Counsel High School President Paul G. Barker and Principal Thomas Campbell that was shared by WJLA.
“As is our calling, we respond as a community to such news in prayer for their healing and for comfort for their family. This afternoon, we gathered the student body for a prayer service and ask that you add your prayers to ours.”

The student was reportedly driving a car that was partially stuck under the passenger side of an oncoming school bus early Friday morning. Investigators said just before 8 a.m., a school bus on its way to Forest Oak Middle School was turning left from Plum Creek Drive onto East Village Avenue in the Gaithersburg area when it was hit by the BMW sedan, police told various outlets.
Photos show that the sedan was partially stuck under the passenger side of the bus, trapping the driver and the passenger, NBC reported.

Six children were in the bus at the time of the collision, a Montgomery County Public Schools spokesperson told various outlets. Some suffered minor injuries, but none were hospitalized, according to the Montgomery County Police Department.
