Clarksburg Playground Set On Fire

CLARKSBURG, MD — A fire that broke out at a playground at Arora Hills Park in Clarksburg caused an estimated $50,000 of damage, a Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said.

The Wednesday afternoon fire involved play equipment and the surrounding area, spokesperson Pete Piringer said. Firefighters are working with Park Police to determine the cause of the fire.

Students from Hallie Wells Middle School were walking in the area and forced to shelter in place due to fire department activity in the park, Piringer said.
