February ‘Cask to Kisses’ Wine Tasting

Some say it can’t be done, pairing wine with chocolate, but if you have the right wine to complement the right chocolate it can be a match made in heaven!

Milk Chocolate:
Hersey's Kisses and Sweet Pieces - milk chocolate truffle rolled in nuts will be paired with:
Nouveau - 2010 vintage-Limited quantities available - Young, fruity and dry.
Black Raven - a Pinot Noir style red.
Bacioni - Italian style red, notes of fruit with black pepper overtones.
Cabernet - Unoaked, fruit forward and low in tannins.

Dark Chocolate:
Raspberry Crème filled chocolate produced by Carriage House Chocolates of Mt. Pleasant, MD, The Treat Shop of Westminster, MD and Perugina’s Italian chocolates will be paired with:
Linganore’s Estate Red Skins Block D - vintage 2007.
Merlot - a full bodied Red produced from local grapes.
Chambourcin - Estate Bottled - full bodied red.
Bacioni - (Bah-che-o-nee) which means “a big kiss” is an Italian style red
Abisso — a semi-sweet fermented port style wine.
Raspberry Wine - a pure fruit wine with an intense raspberry finish and silky smooth sweetness.

Perugina’s most famous chocolate is the Baci, which means “kisses” in Italian. Each Baci—rich dark chocolate with roasted whole and chopped hazelnuts—will be wrapped in a sweet love note and paired with several red wines. Together, they are the true expression of romance.
