• 5 adults, 3 dogs displaced after Germantown house fire (newsnationnow.com) — A serious house fire on Seneca Farm Lane in Germantown displaced five adults and three dogs, but everyone escaped without injuries, according to county fire officials. About 65 firefighters battled heavy flames and a roof collapse Saturday afternoon, and investigators are still working to determine what caused the blaze.
   

• Kusshi Continues Montgomery County Expansion With $150K Bethesda Fitout (mocoshow.com) — A new Kusshi Sushi restaurant is planned for Germantown in the former Zane Japanese Eatery space next to Beers and Cheers, with a $150,000 buildout permit already issued. The Germantown spot will be the brand's first upcounty Montgomery County location, joining existing restaurants in Bethesda, Rockville, Silver Spring, and Northern Virginia as Kusshi continues its regional expansion.
   

• New and Coming Soon to Olney (Fall 2026) (mocoshow.com) — Montgomery County's first TOUS Les JOURS bakery opened earlier at New Grand Mart on Wisteria Drive in Germantown, and now a new Olney location has joined it as part of a wider restaurant boom there. The roundup highlights several new and upcoming eateries and a seasonal holiday experience in Olney that Germantown residents might want to visit.
