Bye-Bye Eco-Friendly Beef?
Elevation Burger closed its Germantown location and has no plans of re-opening, a company official told Patch.

After a little over a year of slinging eco-friendly beef in Germantown, Elevation Burger has shut down the griddle for good.
The Virginia-based franchise closed its Germantown location on July 26, a company brand manager told Patch, citing “ongoing and costly construction issues.”
The chain opened at 19865 Century Boulevard on June 5, 2011, employing about 20 people, according to Elevation Burger’s John Stewart.

Though plans are underway to open five more restaurants in the DC-metro region, Stewart said there were no plans to re-open at the Germantown location.

The Germantown restaurant, Hess said, was the first to introduce a $5.99 burger called the Thick and Rare and was the prototype for a conveyor-like griddle system.
