2 Glen Burnie MDOT MVA Employees Test Positive For Coronavirus

The employees reported testing positive last week. One employee had been working until Thursday of last week.

GLEN BURNIE, MD — The Maryland Department of Transportation's motor vehicle administration has disclosed that two employees at the Glen Burnie branch office recently tested positive for the coronavirus. One employee reported testing positive Thursday. That employee last worked in the Glen Burnie branch office July 10, the MDOT MVA disclosed in a statement. A second employee reported testing positive Friday after working in the office Thursday.

According to the MDOT MVA, both employees are self quarantining at home.

“In order to protect employees and staff, MDOT MVA completed a thorough cleaning and disinfecting of the office space following the first notification on July 16 in accordance with CDC standards, and another deep cleaning on July 17 in response to the second confirmed case," the agency noted.

All MDOT MVA branch offices were were closed March 20 due to the coronavirus. On June 8, the MDOT MVA began its phased reopening plan and welcomed back customers on an appointment-only basis at 22 full-service branch offices across the state.
