• Search continues for missing Prince George's County teen (newsbreak.com) — Greenbelt residents are being asked to help find 16-year-old Dahlyla Gordon, who disappeared Saturday, Oct. 3, after leaving a Greenbelt neighborhood for a gas station and planned car ride. Her friend has since been found, but Dahlyla remains missing, and anyone with information is urged to contact Greenbelt or Prince George's County police immediately.
   

• NASA advances LISA mission contributions with new test telescope (phys.org) — Scientists at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt are leading development of a precision test telescope for the future LISA gravitational-wave mission, putting local engineers at the heart of a major international observatory. Their work on all-glass Zerodur telescopes and laser systems will help detect distant black hole mergers and other cosmic events from space in the 2030s.
   

• Maryland Man Facing Federal Indictment for Role in COVID-19 Healthcare Fraud Scheme Totaling More Than $100M (justice.gov) — A major federal COVID-19 test fraud case has been brought in Greenbelt, where prosecutors say a Rockville man used a Gaithersburg company to bill over $100 million for at-home tests. Residents should know this long-running scheme allegedly targeted federal and state health programs, with investigators based in Maryland leading the case and sentencing to be decided if he's convicted.
