The fair is part of 90th-year Anniversary celebrations the Friends of Patuxent are hosting for Patuxent Research Refuge.
Activities, enjoyment, and fun include

Exhibits by 20+ local community environmental / conservation groups,
Full immersion taxidermy museum and dioramas
Live music by Bill Jenkins,
Continuous film showing of “The Extraordinary Caterpillar,”
Keith Kozloff's photography exhibit in the Hollingsworth Gallery and reception,
Hands-on children’s activities and nature inspired crafts,
Jersey Mike's food onsite for purchase.

We are thrilled to invite you to a very special, first-ever event! On Saturday, July 25, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, the Friends of Patuxent will be hosting our inaugural **Local Community Environmental Fair.

Completely free for the whole family, packed with activities, taxidermy dioramas, learning opportunities, and entertainment.

Here is a sneak peek at what we have planned:

Connect with Local Experts: Meet representatives from over 20 local environmental and conservation organizations to learn how you can make a difference in your community.

Special Film Presentation: Enjoy a screening of “The Extraordinary Caterpillar.”

Art & Discussion: The fair is being held in conjunction with a fantastic photographic gallery exhibit, featuring a special talk by Keith Kozloff about his work, inspired by the legacy of Rachel Carson.

Live Music & More:Enjoy live acoustic music as you explore the fair and connect with neighbors.

Learn more about local wildlife conservation, discover native gardening tips, go for a hike, or just enjoy a beautiful summer day with the family at Cash Lake and Patuxent Research Refuge grounds. There is something here for everyone.
