Reindeer Run Planned for Christmas Eve in Havre de Grace
The holiday 5K in Havre de Grace will raise awareness and money for first responders suffering from PTSD.
HAVRE DE GRACE, MD — On Christmas Eve, hundreds of runners will take to the streets of Havre de Grace for the Reindeer Run 5K. Blue Cheetah Sports Timing & Events Management, which is coordinating the race, reports that registration is full; the event allows for up to 700 runners to register.
Proceeds from the race will go toward the National PTSD Foundation, a public charity dedicated to helping first responders suffering from post traumatic stress disorder.
A representative coordinating the race reportedly said that the venue was fitting for the cause.

"It's a pretty common problem here in Cecil County and Harford County," Blue Cheetah Sport Timing President Christopher Shelton said of PTSD affecting first responders, in an interview with the Cecil Whig.
The Reindeer Run 5K race starts at 8 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 24, at Tydings Park on Commerce Street.
