Several Anne Arundel County leaders are urging embattled Sheriff Ronald Bateman to resign in the wake of 911 calls released from the night he reportedly assaulted his wife. He has rejected calls to resign and says he plans to seek re-election in 2018.

2 Howard County Residents Killed in Plane Crash by Bay Bridge: Police
Maryland State Police identified the man and woman killed in Tuesday's plane crash near the Bay Bridge as a pair of Ellicott City residents. The Federal Aviation Authority and the National Transportation Safety Board will investigate what caused the plane to crash.
