Hospice of the Chesapeake returns as official Charity Partner for 2026 St. Charles Running Festival

Hospice of the Chesapeake is amped up as it once again serves as the official charity partner for the St. Charles Running Festival.

Hospice of the Chesapeake is getting amped up for another exciting and successful day of fitness, fun and philanthropy as it once again serves as the official charity partner for the St. Charles Running Festival presented by Lennar. The event will take place Sept. 12 at the Regency Furniture Stadium in Waldorf.

This marks the second year of the partnership. Last year's festival delivered on every account. The 10K, 5K and post-race Taste of Southern Maryland food truck festival drew runners, walkers and community members out for scenic courses and perfect race-day weather.

Beyond the competition, the 2025 festival raised $2,160 through participant contributions for Hospice of the Chesapeake. Combined with support from community sponsors, the event generated a little over $13,000 to benefit the organization's mission of providing compassionate care and support to individuals and families in Charles County who are navigating serious illness and grief.

Now, organizers and the Hospice of the Chesapeake Foundation are looking ahead to building on that success, made possible by Hospice of the Chesapeake’s Premier Sponsor, the Brian and Patricia Giese Foundation, as well as Community Partner and Finish Line Sponsor University of Maryland Charles Regional Medical Center, Champion Sponsor Waldorf Toyota and Stride Sponsor SMECO.

“We are so grateful to once again be included as the official charity partner for the St. Charles Running Festival,” said Christine Wilson, Executive Director of the Hospice of the Chesapeake Foundation. “Last year's event showed us just how much this community cares about supporting one another, and we're thrilled to see that tradition continue. We want to thank Corrigan Sports Enterprises and its president, Lee Corrigan, for their continued partnership, as well as our community sponsors. We can't wait to see runners, volunteers and sponsors come together again to help even more patients and families in the year ahead.”
