Gun Discharges, Man Arrested in Penn North: Police
Nobody was injured, according to Baltimore Police.

Baltimore Police said that a suspect’s gun discharged Monday afternoon during a foot chase in Penn North, the same area where riots broke out a week ago. Police said nobody was injured.
Officers were watching the city’s closed-circuit cameras Monday afternoon when they saw a man “clearly armed with a handgun” and after police engaged in a brief foot pursuit, the man attempted “to pull it out” followed by the “sound of a weapon discharging,” Lt. Col. Melvin Russell said at a press conference.
Police found a revolver that was missing one bullet and the suspect was arrested, Russell said. Nobody was injured, according to Russell.

Approximately three weeks ago, 25-year-old Freddie Gray was arrested in the same neighborhood.
Police said Gray, who later died, was not provided with medical attention until he was in critical condition, despite requests for aid. Last week, Baltimore City State’s Attorney Marilyn Mosby said the death was ruled a homicide, and six officers were charged.
Despite the fact that nobody was injured in the May 4 incident, police said that there were false reports that someone had been shot.
A large crowd was gathered at the intersection of Pennsylvania and North avenues around 3 p.m. but by 5 p.m., WNEW reported the road had cleared and traffic was getting through.
