McDonald's Patron Steals Food, Charged With 2 Felonies: Police
Police say a man stole a meal from an Anne Arundel County McDonald's. Now, he is being held on $10,000 bail.

HANOVER, MD — Police arrested a Glen Burnie man Tuesday, accusing him of stealing food from a Hanover McDonald’s. The robbery happened around 9:45 a.m. on Sunday, police say.
Police arrested Beau Brandon Fitzgerald, charging him with two felonies and six misdemeanors related to the robbery. Fitzgerald, 27, is being held on $10,000 bail.
A McDonald’s clerk says a man ordered food from the drive-through and handed over money and a credit card. The patron then started arguing and demanded a refund, the worker claims.

The employee complied and returned the money, according to a police report. The suspect then demanded that he still receive his food. The staffer again agreed, handing over the meal.
The cashier said the suspect never flashed a weapon, but the man implied that he had a gun. After getting his way, the robber drove off in his silver Nissan SUV.

Though the robbery happened on Sunday, the McDonald’s did not call police to their 7053 Arundel Mills Circle restaurant until Monday. The Anne Arundel County Police Department announced the search for the accused man on Tuesday.
Officers found Fitzgerald that same day. He faces the felonious charges of armed robbery and robbery. Fitzgerald is also up against two counts of second-degree assault, one count of theft worth less than $100, one count of having a handgun in his vehicle, one count of possessing a firearm on his person and one count of firearm use.
Police announced the arrest on Wednesday, about 1.5 hours before Fitzgerald’s bail hearing. His next court appearance will be at an Oct. 14 preliminary hearing. Fitzgerald’s case does not yet have a trial date.
