Teen Charged in Armed Robbery of Severn Pizza Driver

A 16-year-old boy has been charged as an adult with robbing a pizza delivery driver at gunpoint in Severn; 2 suspects are still at large.

SEVERN, MD — A Baltimore teenager has been charged as an adult for allegedly robbing a pizza delivery driver at gunpoint in Severn. Anne Arundel County Police say they continue to search for a man and a woman, both in their 20s, who also took part in the armed hold-up.

Authorities say the theft happened about 3 p.m. Wednesday in the 7800 block of Canter Court in Severn. The 27-year-old driver told officers the suspects approached him carrying handguns as he arrived at the delivery location, and demanded money. After the delivery driver handed over the cash he had, the suspects fled from the area on foot.

While police were at the scene, a teen matching the description of one of the suspects was seen in the area by detectives. As they approached the teen he ran through the neighborhood near Canter Court. Numerous officers responded to search for the suspect, who was located nearby and arrested.

Police have charged Darnell William Dorsey, 16, from Baltimore, as an adult with armed robbery, first-degree assault, second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, third-degree burglary, and fourth-degree burglary.

  • Black man, early to mid-20s, about 5’8, medium build, wearing a ski mask and dark clothes, armed with an unknown make/model/caliber handgun.
  • Black woman, early to mid-20s, about 5’8, medium build, wearing a ski mask and dark clothes, armed with an unknown make/model/caliber handgun.
