Major Tenant At Owings Mills Town Center To Be Announced

Activity is stirring at the former Owings Mills Mall site, according to Kimco Realty.

OWINGS MILLS, MD — The future of the former Owings Mills Mall site may become more clear this week. Representatives from Kimco, which owns the property, plan to reveal a major tenant that has signed on to the next phase of the project.

The new tenant will "move forward the redevelopment of the former Owings Mills Mall site," according to a statement from Kimco.

Community members have weighed in about what they would like to see in the area, and Kimco said in a statement that it has factored that into its plan for amenities, open space, connectivity and walkability.

The future shopping area will be called Owings Mills Town Center, according to Kimco.

So far, Costco, Lowe's and Dick's Sporting Goods have reported plans to open at the shopping center when it is unveiled in 2019; Construction is expected to start in 2018.

The Owings Mills Mall on Mill Run Circle locked its doors in September 2015 and has since been demolished.

On the site where the mall once stood, Baltimore County Executive Kevin Kamenetz and Councilman Julian Jones will join Kimco Realty's President of the Mid-Atlantic Tom Simmons at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 21, to announce a major tenant coming to the new shopping center at 10300 Mill Run Circle in Owings Mills.
