Owings Mills Man Strikes Plea Deal In Drug, Gun Case
An Owings Millls man has admitted to federal weapons charges, the U.S. Attorney reports.
BALTIMORE, MD — An Owings Mills man faces eight years in federal prison after pleading guilty to possessing a firearm in relation to drug trafficking, according to authorities. Federal agents said they found four guns, nearly $40,000 in cash as well as crack cocaine during a search of his home last year. Three of the guns were under the dishwasher, authorities reported.
Timothy Herndon, 29, of Owings Mills, pleaded guilty to possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime in federal court Wednesday, the U.S. Attorney for the District of Maryland reported Friday.
"Timothy Herndon brought danger to our community through the deadly combination of guns and drugs," U.S. Attorney Robert K. Hur said in a statement."

Officials said members of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives served a warrant at Herndon's home in Owings Mills May 16, 2019.
He reportedly told agents there was a gun in a shoe box in the second-floor bedroom.

While searching the rest of the residence, officials said they also found the following:
In the living room:
- Clear bag with small black ziplock bags of crack and about $2,000 in cash
In the kitchen, under kitchen trash can's garbage bag:
- More black baggies containing crack
- Black shopping bag with razor blades
- One round of 9-millimeter ammunition
- Clear plastic bags
Under the dishwasher:
- Three loaded firearms
- Two clear plastic sandwich bags containing cocaine
- Additional drug paraphernalia
- Paper bag containing a large amount of U.S. cash
In all, officials said they took nearly $40,000 in cash from the home.
Based on the plea agreement, Herndon will be sentenced to eight years in federal prison. Sentencing is scheduled for 2 p.m. on March 27 before U.S. District Judge Ellen L. Hollander in Baltimore.
