Rare 'Superbug' Strikes Maryland Patient: CDC
“We’re very alarmed because some strains...are resistant to all three major classes of antifungal drugs, which we’ve never seen before," said Dr. Tom Chiller, chief of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's myotic diseases. The "superbug" has increased 800 percent since the fall and affected a Maryland patient, warns the CDC.
