Girl Raped Near Sherwood High School: Police
Montgomery County Police are investigating a rape reported Thursday by a girl who was walking in the Sandy Spring area.

SANDY SPRING, MD — A teenage girl walking near Sherwood High School was raped in the Sandy Spring area Thursday morning, according to Montgomery County Police.
The sexual assault occurred between 7 and 8 a.m. while the girl — whose age police aren't releasing — was walking near Olney-Sandy Spring Road (Route 108). The male suspect, using no words, directed the victim to a grassy area and raped the victim. When the girl returned home she reported the assault to her parents; police were notified of the assault and went to the hospital where the victim was being treated.
Detectives are trying to confirm details about the suspect and assault.
