Montgomery Police Reinforce Baltimore Cops on Streets
Nearly 90 officers have traveled to Baltimore to help patrol the streets, and a bullet-resistant vehicle is also on patrol there.

Montgomery County Police continues to send specially trained officers to help quell violence in Baltimore, say leaders.
The police department sent 40 officers to Baltimore Monday, who there until 2 a.m. Tuesday, with another contingent of about 49 officers in the city in the afternoon

The Montgomery County Police Special Events Response Team headed to Baltimore Tuesday afternoon to help with the demonstrations and crowd control, reports Montgomery Community Media. Team members took a bullet-resistant vehicle used to help in crowd control with them to Baltimore.
County Executive Ike Leggett said he hopes peace will quickly be restored to Baltimore streets.

“I’m very disappointed that the protest and the reaction to the protests and all the things that have happened have deteriorated to the point that we have to have a curfew,” Leggett told the county media outlet. “I hope that as the leaders and others take a good stock of this, that calm will prevail and we’ll get back to order. This is not the way to honor the death of Mr. Gray. This is not the way to engage in protest, there are better ways to do it.”
