Pairing Fitness with Halloween Fun at Onelife

Last year, many people missed Halloween, a holiday which typically brings people of all ages out for group events. With the CDC giving the greenlight on Halloween 2021, many are planning to go all out with their festivities – even at the gym! This week, Onelife Fitness in Olney is hosting a week-long Halloween party to celebrate the launch of its new Group Fitness programs.

Onelife’s week of Halloween celebrations includes events for the whole family. Fitness enthusiasts can get in the Halloween spirit without compromising their workout routines by attending themed group fitness classes throughout the week. The class themes include sports, 80s, superhero, crazy socks, blackout and of course, ending the week with Halloween costumes. On Saturday, gym goers with children can participate in special activities such as pumpkin painting and trick or treating in the gym.

“We have found that the communal benefits of coming together with others and doing something difficult, while encouraging one another, provides benefits that go way beyond exercising alone,” says Tracy Tierney, Group Fitness Director at Olney.

To promote the mental and physical health benefits of group exercise, Onelife locations across the DMV are expanding group fitness options. The physical benefits of group fitness classes include contributing to weight loss, reducing risk of disease, and preventing injuries by working with professionals. Mental health advantages include increased motivation, sense of belonging and support, and reduced stress. With group fitness classes ranging from yoga, tai chi, and Pilates to HIIT, CardioBlast, and dance classes there is something for everyone.

All of Onelife’s facilities are following state and CDC guidelines for safety including mask requirements, limited capacity and social distancing in classes.
