Robbery Suspect Strikes Again At Same Rockville Bank: Police

Montgomery County Police are looking for a man they say robbed a Rockville SunTrust Bank twice in a little over a week.

ROCKVILLE, MD — Police have released surveillance photographs of a man they say robbed a SunTrust Bank inside a Rockville Safeway twice in a little over a week.

On Sunday, units responded to the bank at 14939 Shady Grove Rd. for the report of a robbery shortly before 4 p.m. Montgomery County Police said the suspect approached a teller and passed a note demanding cash. The bank robbery suspect obtained an undisclosed amount of money and fled the scene.

Authorities said they believe that he is the same person who robbed the bank on Sunday, Jan. 27. During last week's incident, the suspect handed a note to a bank teller demanding cash, authorities said. The suspect was able to get away with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Officer Rick Goodale, a Montgomery County Police spokesman, said it isn't uncommon for robbery suspects to strike the same location multiple times.

"In some cases, these suspects may feel comfortable enough going back to the same location because they are familiar enough with the employees and the surroundings," Goodale told Patch.
