Rockville's Tenth Annual Business Appreciation Week Set For March 9-13
Mayor, City Council, and Other Leaders to Visit 50+ Local Businesses

The Rockville Mayor and City Council, in coordination with Rockville Economic Development, Inc. (REDI), will again celebrate local businesses the week of March 9-13 during Rockville Business Appreciation Week.
This annual event gives the City of Rockville the opportunity to recognize and thank local businesses for making Rockville their home. Teams comprised of members of the Mayor and City Council, City of Rockville senior staff, REDI Board and staff, and the Rockville Chamber of Commerce Board will visit approximately 50 businesses during the week of March 9-13. These 45 minute site visits with the company allow the visiting team to learn more about the company and its needs so that REDI and the City can support their business needs more effectively. Information gathered during the visits help to give REDI an indication of the economic climate of the City.
Last year, 51 Rockville companies were visited during Rockville’s Business Appreciation Week. Survey results from a year ago showed 92 percent of those 51 businesses reported hiring at least one employee in the previous year and 77 percent reported an increase in revenues. Sixty-one percent of companies surveyed last year reported that they planned to expand their programs or physical space over the next year.
