The Universities at Shady Grove Honored with National Award in Collegiate Advertising Awards Program

"Right Choice" Commercial Ranks in Top 16 Percent of Educational Advertising

The Universities at Shady Grove (USG) recently earned a prestigious Gold Award for its “Right Choice” video, through the Collegiate Advertising Awards (CAA), an elite program that recognizes higher education organizations for excellence in the marketing of their schools.

“The ‘Right Choice’ video captures the vitality of academic and student life at USG. The video communicates to future students that USG is a convenient and affordable way to earn your degree and achieve your career goals,” said Dr. Stewart Edelstein, executive director of the Universities at Shady Grove and associate vice chancellor for the University System of Maryland. “This video would not have been possible if it weren’t for the hardworking communication and video production team. It has proven to be the right choice for USG.”

Educational industry panelists judged the “Right Choice” video alongside more than 900 entries from across the United States. The commercial received top marks, placing it in the top 16 percent of the nation for educational advertising. Education industry panelists judged the commercials upon creativity, layout and design, effective messaging and overall appeal.
