Woman Dies in Aspen Hill House Fire: Officials
More than 100 firefighters responded to the home, Montgomery County fire department reported.

A woman died and two people were injured after a house fire near Rockville Thursday morning, according to reports.
Before 5 a.m. on Thursday, fire broke out in the 4600 block of Iris Street, according to NBC Washington.
More than 100 firefighters responded to the scene, where an older woman was rescued from the second floor, according to Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services.

A woman in her seventies was taken from the home to MedStar Hospital in Washington in cardiac arrest and was resuscitated before ultimately succumbing to her injuries, according to WNEW, which reported she was survived by her son who also escaped from the burning home.
Two firefighters were taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries, Fox DC reported.

Aspen Hill Road was closed between Parkland Drive and Arctic Avenue, according to Montgomery County officials.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, but NBC Washington reports the fire is believed to have started in the basement. It may have been related to a gas leak, according to WNEW.
