Bay Harbor Post Acute in Salisbury Partners with Brighter Days for Substance Use Disorder Treatment Offering

Bay Harbor Post Acute and Healthcare Center in Salisbury has introduced a new, residential substance use disorder treatment offering in partnership with Brighter Days Recovery Center. The program, led by a compassionate and highly trained team, operates in a designated portion of the building, newly renovated as part of a multi-million-dollar modernization currently in progress at Bay Harbor.

Baltimore-based Brighter Days Mental Health and Recovery Center is a veteran owned, Joint Commission-accredited healthcare organization providing comprehensive behavioral healthcare services. Bay Harbor’s Brighter Days residential program provides structured care, with established facility protocols, staff training requirements and resident management processes from pre-admission to discharge. The program is designed to minimize risks and promote recovery in a safe and supportive environment.

Crisis Prevention Intervention and substance use disorder management training for all staff is a central component of the Bay Harbor Brighter Days offering. Residents in the program benefit from support groups, such as SMART (Self-Management and Recovery Training) Recovery, and a range of therapeutic activities. An agreement to participate in treatment and adhere to the facility’s zero-tolerance substance abuse policy is required.

Located at 200 Civic Avenue, the 305-bed Bay Harbor offers a range of specialized skilled nursing programming in tandem with post-hospital care, short-term rehab and long-term residential care. The center also recently introduced one of the region’s first specialized subacute Stroke Recovery Programs, becoming the first in the State of Maryland to earn Skilled Nursing Facility Stroke Rehabilitation Certification from the American Heart Association.
