The Montgomery County Police Department is asking the public to help identify three men involved in an armed robbery of a 7-Eleven convenience store in Silver Spring. At about 3:15 a.m. Feb. 11, a male employee was in the 7-Eleven office when the three suspects entered the store, police told Patch.

Four Montgomery County cities were placed in the top ten "Most Culturally Diverse Cities" 2017 list created by the personal-finance website Wallethub. The site conducted an in-depth analysis of the most and least culturally diverse cities in the U.S., and Germantown placed second, Gaithersburg placed third, Silver Spring placed fourth and Rockville placed ninth.

New BBQ Restaurant To Open In Downtown Silver Spring
A new barbecue restaurant called Lincoln's BBQ will replace A.G. Kitchen in Downtown Silver Spring, according to media reports. Lincoln's BBQ is planning to open mid-February at 931 Ellsworth Dr., in the same spot A.G. Kitchen closed this December.

The controversial Confederate soldier statue — a focus of community debate since it was vandalized with graffiti and residents and leaders disagreed on where to keep the monument — was listed for sale on Craigslist a few months ago, according to reports. The county has been trying to figure out where to move the statute for over a year.
