A Silver Spring man has been banned from the Maryland Live! Casino after he was confronted over counting cards at the blackjack table, according to a WJZ report.
Justin Mills, 23, told WJZ that counting cards is legal, yet he was escorted out of the Casino and later received a letter notifying him that, “As a result of your actions, you are not permitted on the premises of Maryland Live! Casino, permanently.”

“However, card counting that is done using intellectual capacity to keep track of cards is not prohibited by state law or regulation,” Martino told the paper.
Mills has sought assault charges on a security guard who grabbed his arm as he was being escorted out. But the Anne Arundel County State’s Attorney’s office told WJZ that there’s insufficient evidence for criminal charges.
Maryland Live! Casio said in a statement, “As a private facility, we reserve the right to refuse service or limit play of any casino customer.”
Mills has two videos posted to YouTube documenting the incident, entitled “2nd Degree Assault” and “False Imprisonment.”
