SILVER SPRING, MD — A man who police believe is behind a string of burglaries in Montgomery and Prince George's counties has been caught on surveillance video. Authorities have released the footage in hopes that the public can help identify the suspect.
According to Montgomery County Police, the burglaries occurred earlier this month — just days from each other. The first incident happened on July 4 at a Bethesda gas station.
At about 3:30 a.m., a light-colored SUV backed up to the entrance of an Exxon gas station located at 6100 Macarthur Blvd. A man wearing all black clothing and a mask covering his face stepped out of the vehicle and threw an unknown object at the glass door. He then entered the store, but left empty-handed.

The second incident occurred at 11409 Lockwood Drive on July 7, shortly before 4:30 a.m. Again, a light-colored SUV backed up to the front of the Spicy America international grocery store. Then the suspect used an unknown object to smash through the glass door and gain entry to the establishment. He fled the scene with a cash register, police said.
Authorities think there may be a second suspect at large who was driving the getaway vehicle.
