Silver-Spring-Based "Nerdy & Dirty" Women’s Band Launches Kickstarter for Second Album
The Misbehavin' Maidens, a mixed a capella/folk band comprised of four women, today launched a Kickstarter to fund their second album.
The Misbehavin' Maidens, a mixed a capella/folk band comprised of four women from the Washington, D.C./Baltimore area, today launched a Kickstarter to fund their second album.
The band’s members pride themselves in performing sex-positive and LGBTQA+-friendly music, including nerdy parodies, drinking songs and more for 18+ nerd crowds. Their new album will feature songs about anime, fandom con hookups, purity myths, sex education, pirates, consent culture, and some classic folk songs that are rife with double entendres.
Their first album, “BUSTED,” was the result of a wildly successful Kickstarter campaign in early 2015. The Kickstarter to fund their second album will run January 3 through February 2, 2017. The band seeks to raise $5,000 to cover the costs of recording a full-length studio album.

Performing in cosplay, pirate garb, and occasionally plain clothes, the group can be found at local theme bars and fandom conventions all across the country. The group has performed at Dragon Con, ConNooga, Wicked Faire, Nauticons, several D.C./Baltimore area burlesque and variety shows, and local theme bars, most frequently at the Limerick Pub in Wheaton, Md. The band, which began rehearsing together in late 2012 and performed in public together for the first time in May of 2013, consists of four members: Flint Locke, "Lucky" Annie LeBlanc, Madame Rouge, and Saber Tompson. While all of the ladies come from a "pirate" background, they embrace a wide range of subcultures, offering musical tributes to everything from steampunk to anime.
