SILVER SPRING, MD — Montgomery County police have identified a student who made a threat on social media Sunday against Montgomery Blair High School.

Police and school officials have not said if the student was arrested.

In a letter to parents and guardians, Principal Renay Johnson said the "student confessed to posting the threat" and has "received consequences aligned with the Montgomery County Public Schools Student Code of Conduct."

The threat, Johnson added, was not credible.

In an interview with Patch, police spokeswoman Rebecca Innocenti said "the social media post was vague but concerning" enough for parents and students to notify police. Innocenti did not go into specifics but said the poster discussed being bullied and warned that something would happen if it didn't stop.

Innocenti emphasized that "no direct threat" was made in the post.

Patch has obtained screenshots of the social media post.

It reads in part: "I'm tired of these people at Blair constantly harassing and hurting me. I am reaching my breaking point, and I will soon do something I know I will regret later on. Please stop passively bulling students, before I end your f-----g lives."
