Busboys and Poets Sponsors $1000 Scholarship for top Senior Portfolio
The regional deadline is fast-approaching for the Scholastic Writing Awards (www.artandwriting.org), the country’s largest, longest-running, most prestigious recognition program for teen writers.
Writopia Lab, the Awards regional affiliate, invites writers in grades 7-12 throughout Greater Washington to submit their best essays, stories, poetry, and plays for a chance at scholarships, publication, and regional or national recognition.
This year, Busboys and Poets is also sponsoring a $1000 scholarship for the top senior portfolio in the DC region, which includes the District of Columbia; Arlington and Farifax Counties and Alexandria City in Virginia; and Montgomery and Prince George’s Counties in Maryland.
Submissions must be uploaded and forms post-marked by January 6, 2012.
