• Economic Development, Homeless Solutions Center of Department Day Trips: Community Connections Visit to Montgomery County (maryland.gov) — Takoma Park is getting a major boost as the state helps fund renovation of the historic Takoma Park Bank into a new distillery and cocktail bar for Sangfroid Distilling, backed by $150,000 in revitalization funds. During a Montgomery County visit, housing secretary Jake Day met with local leaders on homelessness and Purple Line development, then joined Takoma Park officials to highlight this investment in the city's small-business economy.

Wang Concert Series' 2026-27 Season (operawire.com) — A major classical concert is headed to Takoma Park this fall, with Grammy-winning mezzo-soprano J'Nai Bridges and the Sphinx Virtuosi performing at Takoma Park Seventh Day Adventist Church on October 24. The program will feature a new song cycle, "Declaration," plus works by several composers, with a pre-concert talk by composer Damien Geter and a partnership with the Coalition for African Americans in the Performing Arts.
