Armed Burglar, Purse Snatcher Reported on East Joppa Road: Towson Crime

Carjacking attempt at Towson Town Center, sleep assault in Rodgers Forge and other crimes were reported recently to police in Towson.

TOWSON, MD — The Baltimore County Police Department has provided the following information about recent incidents in the Towson area. Arrests do not indicate convictions.

An armed individual tried to break into a room at the Towson East Motel by pushing open a door in the 1500 block of East Joppa Road. The burglary attempt was reported at 2:49 a.m. on Jan. 22.

While she was walking into the Royal Farms store in the 1500 block of East Joppa Road, a woman reported her purse was stolen. A suspect was taken into custody in connection with the robbery, reported at 7:45 a.m. on Jan. 21.

Someone was arrested for assaulting an individual while he was asleep in the 100 block of Dumbarton Road. The victim was taken to the hospital as a result of the assault, which was reported at 7:24 p.m. on Jan. 20.

Two suspects were arrested after they allegedly attempted a carjacking in broad daylight at the Towson Town Center in the 800 block of Dulaney Valley Road. Both suspects were armed. The attempted carjacking occurred at 1:30 p.m. on Jan. 18.

Someone shot a round into an apartment in the 1000 block of Donington Circle where two people were inside. Upon hearing the gunfire at 9:15 p.m. on Jan. 17, the victims ran into another apartment.

Construction and landscaping equipment were stolen from a home in the unit block of Barrow Court. The suspect(s) forced open the basement door between 1 p.m. on Jan. 11 and 11:40 a.m. on Jan. 12 in the burglary.
