Crash Closes I-83 South Near Ruxton Road: SHA

Interstate 83 is completely shut down to southbound traffic Wednesday morning near Ruxton Road as the result of a collision that reportedly involved an injury.

The two-vehicle crash on I-83 south happened around 9:45 a.m. in the area past Ruxton Road, according to the Coordinated Highways Action Response Team (CHART).

All lanes of I-83 south were closed at Ruxton Road, and vehicles were bailing out onto northbound I-83 by crossing the median.

The State Highway Administration reported at 10:15 a.m. that access to I-83 south had been cut off from I-695 as well.
