Towson, Get Ready for Rally and Motorcade

The Towson Area Citizens on Patrol invites community to participate in Tuesday's National Night Out events.

The Towson Area Citizens on Patrol is coordinating a rally and motorcade for National Night Out Tuesday in Towson.

The annual National Night Out observance brings communities and police together nationwide in a unified effort toward crime prevention.

The rally in Towson starts at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 4, at Towson Place shopping center on Putty Hill Avenue, in front of Toys R Us and Michael’s.

Baltimore County police, volunteers with Towson Area Citizens on Patrol (TACOP), the Providence Volunteer Fire Company, County Executive Kevin Kamenetz and other officials will be there.

After the rally, a motorcade will course through 25 communities that TACOP monitors to make a statement that crime is not welcome in Towson.

To participate in National Night Out, residents can cheer on the motorcade, attend the rally, turn on their lights, walk through their neighborhoods or talk to police.
